What's in my bag?

I often get asked what gear I shoot/photograph with. Also, WHY?

First, Why? I started doing photography in High School, on the camera's that were available. Everything that was available was Nikon. So that is what I decided to stick with. Don't let that fool you. I didn't learn a whole lot in class, it was mostly photoshop.

It wasn't till after I had my son (now 12) that I really started to hone in on the photography thing and remember why I liked photography. That's a completely different blog post though.

So really, it's that simple. That's what I started on.

As far as the gear I shoot with, as I said I shoot with Nikon.

Specifically -

Nikon D850

Nikon D700 (backup body)

Nikkor 50 1.8 Prime

Nikkor 14-24 1.8

Nikkor 24-70 2.8

Sigma 135 Prime

Nikon SB700 Flash

Drone DJI Air2s

This is the typical gear I have handy at most photoshoots.

What gear will I use for your photoshoot? That depends on what type of photoshoot it is.

Lifestyle an family sessions I typically have on my 24-70 which allows me to be up close and get the intimate moments.

I will throw on the 135 at times if I am really trying to separate the subject from the background and surround elements and if there is enough space. My 50 if I want the 1.8 over the 2.8. It makes a difference.

The 14-24 I usually use for Real Estate but sometimes will use for some creative sports shots.

My drone is mostly used for Real Estate.

The flash comes in handy at times for fill light.
